The Digital Imaging Show
Digital Imaging Show – Gravesend
We recently attended the Digital Imaging Show at the Inn on the Lake, near Gravesend.
This is a trade show for professional photographers, to which we were invited by the Canon team. It consisted of a number of stalls showcasing products for photographers, plus a number of seminars given by prominent people in their field. As part of our Continuing Professional Development, we are always looking for ways to ensure that we are giving our clients the best service we can give, and attending this show was part of our ongoing training. We took copious notes during the seminars and came away with a number of ideas on how to improve our business and what we offer our clients.
One of the things we gained was an introduction to a new high-quality printing company, whose products are less expensive than the top quality lab we currently use for all our clients. We are now able to offer quality photographic products at a more reasonable price, to clients for whom this is a major consideration.
There were long gaps between the seminars for delegates to look around the stands, and we took full advantage of the opportunities, talking to most of the companies exhibiting there. We purchased a new product that will ensure that our monitors show exactly the colours of the image we’ve created, so we know that what you get is what you saw on our laptop (if you’ve had a viewing). As our previous colour-correction gadget had recently packed up, this was a timely purchase.
In one of the gaps between attending seminars, Karen took her camera outside to make the most of the autumn colour in the grounds of the venue. The image below is just one of the pictures she took. While we love photographing people, we also like to capture the world around us.
