Shooting on Location at a Cemetery
Shooting on Location
As our regular clients will know, we offer portrait photo-shoots both in the comfort of your own home and in locations around the Tunbridge Wells area. So we’re always looking for new and interesting places for shooting on location. The other day, we took the opportunity to try out a new venue. We aimed to get a few new photos for our portfolio, and here are some of the results.
As you can see, it may not be an obvious spot, but as photographers, we are always looking for something a bit different. Woodbury Park Victorian Cemetery is an unusual location, but with the many architectural monuments it contains, there is a wide variety of backgrounds and lighting situations to choose from, as well as some heart-warming inscriptions on the grave markers. This was a first test shoot here for Light touch Photography, but I’m sure we’ll be returning again and again.
This venue would suit anyone with a taste for the gothic; steampunk would be very at home here; and for those who love rock, heavy metal, leather, or horror movies, it’s just perfect.
Woodbury Park Cemetery is maintained by an army of volunteers, several of whom were working in the grounds during our shoot. They were all very accommodating and interested, and we would like to thank them for the hard work they do in making sure the area looks so well-kept and welcoming. The drifts of snowdrops were especially lovely as background to our shoot, and we were very pleased with the results of the close-ups they featured in.
Thank you also to our volunteer models, Lou and Duncan, who braved freezing winds, -3c with the wind chill, and the occasional muddy spot to take a vital part in our experimental shoot. They thoroughly enjoyed the day, despite the cold, and we hope to show you more of this highly original portrait venue, featuring these two lovely people, following future shoots.
