Dickens Festival
It seems like a long time since we photographed some amazing costumes at the Dickens Festival in Rochester. In fact it was only seven weeks ago. It was such an amazing day, with some amazing costumes, and we’d like to share some of them with our readers and followers.
The costumed revellers fell into two main categories: those dressed in Victorian or Dickensian costumes, and those in full Steampunk gear. All had clearly worked hard on their costumes, and we loved the design details in their outfits.
It’s been said of me (Karen) that I appear to love dressing up, and it’s true, I do. I also love seeing others dressed up. It was lovely how happy the costumed visitors to the festival were to be photographed. Some even posed beautifully for the camera. When so many people are camera-shy these days, it was a buzz to have so many willing victims … I mean, models. Most seemed very practiced at standing in front of a camera.
Costumed photography is something we really enjoy, so watch this space – there may be more images like these coming soon!
Our thanks to those who took the time and trouble to create these wonderful costumes, and to stroll the streets of Rochester in them on a chilly day in early June.
